Junior Platform Developer | Reinsurance

£25000 - £55000 per annum

I am looking for candidates who are keen on developing/coding new systems or platforms for a vacancy within a global reinsurer.

The team are made up of circa 15 experienced developers, a mix of qualified actuaries and developers. There is no background preference for this particular hire. Budget has been set aside for Learning & Development which can be allocated to actuarial exam support, or for courses aimed at learning new programming languages.

The big focus for this team is diversifying their skills profile - they are open to considering candidates with coding experience gained from other industries, as long as candidates are excited by the opportunity to apply this within the life insurance landscape.

This team sit in the head office, meaning the successful candidate will gain international stakeholder experience. Finally, this team are keen on innovation wherever possible - candidates with an interest in machine learning/advanced data analytics would enjoy this environment.

Ideal Experience required:

- C++ , Python or VBA coding

- If applicants are on the actuarial track they need to have experience of working in a modelling or pricing team

- If non-actuarial, candidates must be able to demonstrate experience of applying code (e.g dissertation, work project)
