This employer is a small and tight-knit team delivering innovative and user friendly B2B solutions that support the rollout and management of important UK infrastructure. This is an exciting time to join a growing business as they prepare to launch two new SaaS products and begin to plan a wider portfolio of web and mobile apps that make a real difference in the workplace.
As a native mobile developer, you will be joining a fast-paced environment and existing development team. Engaging with other developers, designers, and the product management team to deliver new products, functionality and features to their mobile apps.
ABOUT YOU
- You must be enthusiastic, creative and willing to learn
- Interested in keeping up with the latest technologies, trends and tools
- Comfortable bringing forward your ideas and working with both vague or highly-specific requirements and concepts
- Take pride in your work but handle feedback constructively to adapt your work to meet the demands of a varied user base
- Have great problem solving skills with the patience and discipline to find and resolve the trickiest of bugs
- Be familiar with recommended design patterns and common platform libraries and APIs (e.g. maps, location, camera, JSON, REST API and data persistence/SQLite)
- Have knowledge of agile methodology
- Have 1 to 4 years developing medium-to-high complexity Android or iOS native apps
- For Android Developers: You should be experienced in both Java and Kotlin using Android Studio
- For iOS Developers: You should be experienced in either Swift or Objective-C using Xcode
LOCATION
- Flexible working from home or shared office space in/near Reading
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing prototypes for new product and feature concepts
- Turning prototypes into production-grade feature-rich apps
- Fixing and enhancing existing products and features
- Supporting the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release, and support)
- Performing unit and integration testing
- Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code and layouts
- Promoting a professional attitude to code quality and best practice
- Working closely with the product management team to execute an idea from concept to delivery using excellent software design, coding & processes
- Staying up to date with the latest technology by continuously evaluating and implementing new technologies to maximise development efficiency
