Business Analyst
12-Month Fixed Term Contract 2020 is an exciting time to join RSSB. We are determined to become a digital workplace, investing heavily in technology to improve our offer to customers and to staff. To help us achieve our vision, we are looking for a Business Analyst to join our Business Change and Strategy Team to work closely with the business and help deliver tangible improvements in the way we work. You will be an experienced and qualified Business Analyst used to working as a key interface between IMT, projects delivery and the business and experienced in a range of change environments. You will be passionate about the positive difference Business Analysis can make in the successful delivery of transformational change and are equally comfortable working within waterfall or agile methodologies. Positive stakeholder relationships are extremely important to you and you enjoy helping people articulate their needs, even when it's something they don't know they want. IT-enabled transformation is delivered through collaboration across three directorates. Our IM&T Directorate are responsible for enabling technical implementation, our Project Directorate manage project delivery and our Business Change and Strategy Directorate ensure delivery is successfully aligned to the needs of the business and is well managed from a people change perspective.    You will work closely with our Projects Directorate, our IM&T Directorate and our Head of Business Change and Strategy to deliver RSSB's business and industry systems change projects. You will be able to grasp new business requirements with ease and be comfortable communicating and influencing a range of stakeholders. Conversant with a range of business analysis tools and frameworks, you always choose the right tool for the job and provide a structured and collaborative approach to analysing and documenting business requirements. Responsabilities Work with internal and/or external stakeholders to gather requirements for our key business and industry systems transformation projects using a range of techniques including interviews, document analysis, workshops, focus groups surveys, scenario, task and workflow analysis to effectively understand business problems and user needs. Understand, make sense of, document and validate business requirements using a range of tools including epics, user stories, business process diagrams, persona analysis, use cases, functional requirements specifications, MoSCoW analysis and high-level wireframes. Thereby critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconciling conflicts, decomposing high-level information into deliverable detail and abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, distinguishing user requests from the underlying true needs. Elicit, validate and produce Business Benefits Analysis documentation, that captures the qualitative and quantitative benefits to be delivered and defines the method in which to measure and report benefit realisation Contribute to overall Business Change and Business Benefits impact assessment and planning. Work closely with the Development and Testing teams throughout the project lifecycle, driving the User Acceptance Test (UAT) with business users, which includes providing test scenarios and working with the Product Owner to track and prioritise feedback. Support the Head of Business Change and Strategy with the business change elements for our internal change projects.  This includes change design, change impact analysis, engagement planning, engagement and communications delivery, resistance management and training strategy, design and planning. Qualifications A qualification in business analysis such as BCS/ISEB Diploma OR Advanced Diploma in Business Analysis Substantial experience of and up-to-date understanding of analysis approaches, tools and techniques including business process and data modelling Significant business analysis experience with demonstrable evidence of analytical thinking, requirements management, business process management, operating model frameworks. Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. Demonstratable experience of managing and/or contributing to the user acceptance process. Able to collaborate with users, partner with the business and gain trust and represent users internally when working with external suppliers. Strong evidence of working across portfolios/complex work streams/multiple initiatives concurrently. Experience in business case production, business justification and prioritisation. Understanding and experience of agile methodology and able to lead others in agile working. High level of competence in MS Visio, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. A high degree of self-awareness and self-regulation in a wide range of situations from one-to-one conversations to team and group dynamics. Ability to appreciate and recognise different styles of working and the ability to foster positive collaboration through building strong, productive customer focused relationships with all stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communication skills, influencing ability and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders. A commitment to delivering high quality work, backed up by a passion for strong customer service. An ability to adapt and flex to the environment and situation at hand.
