You'll be responsible for building, maintaining and upgrading different applications and sites for external clients and some of their own products and services.
This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML, CSS/Sass, and JavaScript) and aesthetics. You should have a strong understanding of industry trends and very comfortable with WordPress. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.
You'll be expected to contribute towards both the planning and code development stages of website builds, showing initiative and creativity. You must manage your own time effectively, and in doing so you are expected to be mindful at all times of the quality implications of your actions.
You're good at:
- Problem solving
- Attention to detail; you're able to catch even the smallest mistakes
- Good understanding of front-end tech including HTML, CSS/SASS, Javascript/JQuery
- Good understanding of back-end tech including PHP
The daily responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to:
- Help and support customers with technical queries via email, phone and Zoom
- Learn different systems, software and technologies
- Help oversee website testing, both manual and automatic
- Translate designs/written requirements into functional systems
- Help develop responsive websites
The ideal candidate has these top qualities and qualifications;
- Minimum 1 year PHP/WordPress experience
- Software support experience is desired
- GIT/BitBucket experience
- Ownership of tasks/completing what you start
- Must have comfort with using a variety of software technologies
- A can-do attitude and natural ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
Extra bonus:
- Educated to degree level in Computer Science or equivalent is advantageous
- Experience working with React.js
- Integrations with 3rd Party APIs
- Familiarity with cloud provider platforms and services
