About us

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills. We inspect and regulate services that care for children and young people, but also services for learners of all ages. Every week, we carry out hundreds of inspections and regulatory visits throughout England, reporting on standards across the country and delivering our results to Parliament.

Working with us gives you the chance to help protect and advance children's lives, but also take on projects that will push your skills and advance your career. There's huge scope for both personal and professional development, whatever your role.

About the role

You'll join our new Application Support Team, leading your own small team to support and maintain our internal colleague services. These include inspection and evidence-gathering services as well as others developed using Microsoft Power.

Once you're part of our fast-paced, agile and dynamic DevOps environment, you'll be responsible for making sure our services meet our service level agreements and the highest standards of design and quality. You'll respond quickly to resolve incidents and adapt to changing business priorities.

Helping others to learn and develop is a key part of the role, as you'll also be a line manager for your team.

About you

You'll be an expert in Power Automate and Power Apps, and have a solid understanding of cloud-based technologies, e.g. Dynamics and SharePoint Online. You should have certifications in ITIL and Microsoft Professional Training.

You'll also be used to working in Agile teams, managing others and providing application support. Experience coordinating projects in pressured environments is also essential.

We also need positive, energetic candidates with excellent communicate skills who can inspire others and constantly find ways to change and improve the way we work.

About our benefits

We're committed to maintaining your health and wellbeing, be that physically, emotionally, financially or socially, and our benefits reflect this. You'll have the option to join the Civil Service Pension Scheme, take advantage of our many professional and personal development opportunities, enjoy 32.5 annual leave days per annum (plus public holidays) and get access to counselling and advisory services for you and your family.
