Lead Java Developer / Software Engineer (JVM Kotlin Backend). Hyper-growth scale up is seeking an ambitious, tech-driven Java Developer to join them, cultivate a talented team of engineers and work on trailblazing search technology.

By using cutting-edge technology, the organisation helps global investment and business professionals connect to a dynamic network of industry experts across the world.

In this Lead Java Developer position you'll partner with engineers, eliminating pain points and optimising work flows, advancing the capabilities of the system. You'll work with Product Owners and Marketing to expand business requirements and align the direction of development with business objectives.

You'll also provide proactive technical leadership to a small team, taking ownership of task planning, code reviews and staff development, advocating continual learning through 10% time and allocated training budgets.

This Lead Java Developer role would suit a tech-driven individual who is keen to balance hands-on technical work and leadership responsibilities. Your team will take your lead in an Agile environment that facilitates rapid delivery. With plenty of optimisation, scalability and Greenfield development projects to work on this role is sure to be diverse and highly rewarding.

Requirements:

You have strong Java development experience (Python and Ruby are also desirable)

You have experience of taking technical ownership of a specific application, product or infrastructure

You have technical leadership experience

You're a passionate technologist who is keen to work with emerging technologies (e.g. Kotlin on AWS)

You're a positive team player who takes a naturally collaborative approach to work

You have a business-driven mindset and are able to see the organisational ‘bigger picture'

You're degree educated (Computer Science preferred)
