A Business Analyst is required for our public sector client based in Bury, Greater Manchester. This is for an initial 3 month contract (likelihood of extensions). Job SummaryThe post-holder will have lead responsibility for provision of information, reporting and intelligence to support the strategic planning and transformation programmes.The post-holder will provide specialist analytical expertise, advice and guidance on information matters, including benchmarking, analysis and interpretation of health related data sets and will be the lead specialist for allocated commissioning workstreams. The post-holder will be expected to work flexibly to support the organisation and wider partners across the local economy. DutiesSupport the head of Business Intelligence in the planning, management and delivery of programmes and projects to address key analytical and information needs.Manage the work plan for the Business Intelligence team, ensuring work is shared equally across the team and all reports are delivered to timescales.Develop work plans for the individual analysts.Lead advanced analysis, interpretation and presentation of highly complex data to support business planning and evidence based decision making.Work with a broad spectrum of information from a wide range of sources presenting highly complex and sophisticated information in a meaningful way to increase organisational knowledge and enable evidence-based decisions.Provide advanced technical skills (e.g. SQL, SSIS, tableau etc.) to extract data for analysis and interpretation, taking data from a wide range of sources and providing business intelligence to support the organisation and wider partners. ExperienceAt least 3 years' experience of data management and analysisExperience in the use of database extraction tools to develop complex queries, in particular Microsoft SQLExperience of secondary care datasets (e.g. ICD, OPCS, NHS Data Dictionary, etc.)Experience in the use of Tableau / Power BI Experience of creating and rolling out SSRS reportsExperience in the use of SLAMEvidence of continued professional developmentDemonstrated experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environmentsExperience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence at SMT level
