Position Summary

The Buyer, Indirect Procurement uses expertise for a range of purchasing activities, including pricing and negotiating with suppliers to reach highest quality at best value. Performs purchasing activities, whilst ensuring procurement procedures are in compliance with government laws, regulations and management objectives.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs purchasing activities including processing Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, resolving pricing discrepancies, discounts, negotiating terms and long-term contracts where applicable, with suppliers and delivery of goods/services

Evaluates quotations received from prospective suppliers and provide feedback regarding award of purchase orders to the Senior Buyer

Ensures formal and legal contractual documentation are attached to the purchase orders, encompassing all corporate and government requirements

Ensures compliance to government laws, regulations and the company's procurement policies, and procedures

Identifies problem areas, initiates corrective action and establishes problem resolution dates in a timely manner

Maintains current and accurate purchase order data in the purchasing system (e.g. delivery dates, pricing, change orders)

Support the Group Indirect Procurement Director, the Group Head of Corporate Services Procurement, may provide guidance to corporate stakeholders as required, and Drives CI activity and business strategies
