The place of work is at the frontline of food safety, animal and public health control not only for the UK but also for the European Union.The Role:Your role within the Port Health team will be to take the lead in the design and delivery of a consistent and coherent technical architecture that meets the need of Port Health's current and future operational and business strategy. You will provide expert advice by taking ownership of all aspects of the design of the technical architecture and roadmap which includes infrastructure, data, systems, security, in-house built software solutions, integrations and security with associated best practices and processes.The Candidate:Knowledge of operational ICT platforms and applications including Microsoft, Android and AppleExtensive first-hand experience of designing and delivering complex, specifically-built software solutions using modern programming languages, tools and techniques for a range of desktop and mobile devices. Experience in managing and motivating associated project resources to deliver to their full potentialHas a detailed knowledge of Enterprise Architecture and DevOps principles and practicesProven experience of technically managing a range of successful large scale technology projectsPlanning and being creative in the use of resources and technology, using systems thinking, smart ways of working, time management and project management tools and techniquesRelevant Degree / Higher Education qualification in Computer Science or similar Information Technology subject area or equivalent demonstrable experienceITIL foundationMust be able to work across all Port Health locations, occasional UK-wide travel may be requiredThe Benefits:In return, they can offer great opportunities for training and development and they will give you all the support they can during your time with them.
