DevOps EngineerDevOps Engineer - Permanent - Spinningfields, ManchesterWe have an exciting opportunity with one of our high-profile clients based in Spinningfields, Manchester. As a result of ongoing growth within their development team, they are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis. Specifically, this position will design, create, manage and optimise build/release pipelines for application deployment, configuration and monitoring to ensure that change can be delivered efficiently, and the application monitored to spot problems before they impact the customer. Main responsibilities:Take responsibility for the design and implementation of a continuous delivery pipeline in keeping with industry best practice.Take responsibility for all aspects of the application configuration and environment upwards from the OS and look for opportunities to drive efficiency, reliability and quality through automation.Ensure adequate levels of monitoring and telemetry is in place across all aspects of the infrastructure, application and deployment pipelines and use this information to drive improvement.Champions build and support tooling/services to supporting CI/CD data pipeline processes for build, test and deploy automation.Supports the evolution of our DevOps culture and working practices across development and operations, encouraging simplicity, efficiency, ownership and accountability.Work with development & infrastructure teams to integrate tooling and processes to automate delivery, seeking ways to increase the velocity, regularity, quality and visibility of our release cycles.Works with Infrastructure Engineers, Project Managers, Scrum Masters and Product Owners to define and implement the automation infrastructure needed to support project delivery.Work with technical colleagues to diagnose technical incidents and identify the root cause of problems.Work with technical colleagues in Enterprise Systems and the wider IS to provide business as usual (BAU) and application support.You will uphold coding standards and contribute to their definition.Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies.Experience required:Experience building and maintaining Enterprise Solutions in an on-premise windows server and Oracle environment. Experience developing CI/CD process using an automated DevOps pipeline to automate the provisioning and configuration of enterprise scale applications on Windows and Oracle servers.Good working knowledge of a variety of automation techniques using tooling such as (GIT/Jenkins/Teamcity/Bamboo/PowerShell/JavaScript/Octopus deploy). Experience implementing environments to support test automation within a CI/CD pipeline using tools such as Selenium or Taiko.Experience implementing environment monitoring and application telemetry using industry standard techniques and tooling.Familiarity with running, analysing and mitigating the outputs of performance and penetration tests.Working collaboratively within an Agile environment with the responsibility for live implementation of software releases.Experience of containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes on Azure would be beneficial.Good understanding of software development methods and practices.Have a good awareness and ability to work with information security and confidentiality legislation.
