Technology Risk & Compliance Analyst

London

£40,000-£60,000 per annum

Company client currently working with a global multi-billion insurer who is looking to hire a Technology Risk & Compliance analyst who will be responsible for performing controls, quality assurance and reporting to management for their European businesses. The company has recently undergone a major restructuring with this role being created as a result giving you an opportunity to take ownership of the area.

Your Responsibilities

* Perform controls including more complex security controls at their stated design and regularity

* Perform self-assessment / audit samples for control owners and other stakeholders

* Facilitate any remediation or changes in controls or audit deficiencies with relevant stakeholders

* Design and deliver training sessions to relevant employees

* Develop and maintain documentation

* Prepare and plan for internal and external audits in the Business technology areas

* Follow-up on audits, track status and work with relevant teams to close open issues according to time plans

* Assist in making improvements in the overall risk and compliance framework and underlying business technology processes and controls

* Assist in performing risk assessments and follow-up status and actions on open risk items

* Work to prevent, track and remediate violations of guidelines and internal policies

* Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously

* Any other duties as reasonably required.

Required Experience

* Relevant experience in information technology, risk, compliance, audit or security controls within areas such as information security, IT development, IT Operations or audit

* Proven track record in working with a risk management and compliance agenda preferably in the Insurance or Financial Services industry

* Understands the business language around Information Technology - risk, security and audit

* Advances MS office skills in particular Excel

* Can demonstrate appreciation of the value of stakeholder management and desire to proactively build a network of contacts

* Ability to learn and understand complex business technology processes and how each part connects with one another

* Strong communication skills - verbal, written and presentation skills

* Fluent in the English language - both verbally and in writing

* Strong analytical mindset with strong attention to detail

* Structured and methodical way of working

* Naturally curious and embraces change of part of daily work

* Can work independently but also part of a team
