Network EngineerFarnborough3-month contract£450pd UMB or PAYE An experienced network engineer is required to be part of a busy, challenging Network Operations team responsible for the day to day support, monitoring, management and enhancements to Client's corporate WAN / LAN / Voice networks within the UK and abroad.Troubleshooting and resolving both customer and infrastructure issues that arise using monitoring and logging tools available to them.Out of hours work and on-call is required at times to maintain and minimise the risk of outages to business systems.Key AccountabilitiesWriting technical documentationBe disciplined, organised and self-motivatedDiagnosing and resolving hardware issuesLiaising with 3rd party suppliers to resolve faultsUse of monitoring systems to identify potential issuesMonitoring, troubleshooting and escalating network faultsProactively working to update and process tickets within our systemCreates and contributes to design & development documentationAdapts to tackle complex solutions and is eager to learn new skillsSelf-motivated with good time managementCommunicates confidently with team members, business analysts, customers and other stakeholdersKnowledgeTroubleshooting complex Firewall and network issuesComfortable working with a complex network infrastructureLayer 3 switchingSwitchingRoutingOSPF / BGPSoftware Defined NetworkingNetwork Security conceptsFirewall ACL'sExperience and QualificationsCisco ASA firewalls / Nexus switches / SwitchesCCNA (Routing and switching / Security) or working towardsAbility to build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externallyAnalytical problem solverStrong attention to detailExcellent customer service skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenDesire and motivation to learn and ability to advance skill levelAbility to multitask and prioritise workloadFlexibility and ability to work on own initiativeAbility to remain calm under pressureWriting technical documentationDue to the nature of the role, candidates are required to hold an active SC clearance or be willing/eligible to undergo.
