My client is seeking a Data Manager with experience of large health datasets and excellent organisational skills to join the COVID-19 Genomics UK Consortium (COG-UK), working jointly with the Department of Public Health and Primary Care. COG-UK is reading the viral genome of the SARS-CoV-2 virus from large numbers of samples collected across the UK. The consortium is linking the viral genetic data with patients' clinical and demographic data to inform public health action and understand the transmission patterns of the virus. The post holder will take responsibility for delivering this linkage and managing the resulting datasetsPosition- Data Manager

Location- Cambridge

Salary- £31,000 - £41,000

-Relevant degree or post graduate qualification in a numerical-based subject or have equivalent experience

- Proficient in the use of relational databases

- Knowledge of PHE information governance processes

- Experience developing processes for managing and linking large datasets and of automating these processes

- Experience of programming, preferably in R or a similar language, and of querying SQL databases
