Optical Network Engineer

My client is looking for an Optical Network Engineer to be based in either Hemel Hempstead, Reading or Ipswich for an initial 3 month contract with the strong chance of renewal.

L2 / Optical Networking Engineer ('professional' level certification or equivalent proven experience expected), to work alongside the existing team on current specific projects and BAU delivery

Must be able to obtain UKSV SC clearance minimum, ideally a higher level clearance is required.

Understanding of the technical aspects of DWDM, SDH designs, knowledge of Optical Transport Networking

Hands on experience and ability to configure, test , commission and install DWDM/SDH/Ethernet equipment and solutions

Experience with legacy TDM and low speed transmission systems/ Test equipment and testing methods

Vendor experience: Nokia, Alcatel-Lucent

Self-starter who can work independently with minimal support and guidance
