Lead C# Software Developer Bristol Land Centre SF32155 About the role Here at Babcock International, we're seeking a Lead C# Software Developer to lead application development throughout the application lifecycle; concept through to retirement. This will naturally include continuous improvement (CI), support and upgrade activity.

Operating as part of an evolved Scrum team, this Lead C# Software Developer will maintain hands on experience whilst leading a team of 4, and will be developing bespoke applications and coming up with testable and traceable solutions as well as providing SME level input to ensure applications are optimised and monitored for availability, capacity and performance.

What do I need to do the role? This Lead C# Software will have experience of developing .Net applications (Web and Desktop) and will have skills in the following areas: * C# * Web Technologies * MVC / Web Forms * Single Page Application (SPA) * Frameworks (Angular/ ReactJS / KnockoutJS) * Entity Framework * JavaScript / Power Shell / T-SQL * Familiarity with source control systems; TFS * Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and / or Oracle and creating stored procedures * Familiarity with integration tools i.e. Microsoft Biztalk, NetWeaver, SSIS, Kafka * Adopt agile engineering approach using modern software engineering practices such as DevOps and CI/CD

We would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas: * Ensure developed applications perform to functional and non-functional requirements * Ensure developed applications perform to contracted KPIs and SLAs * Ensure that applications are managed in line with the Enterprise Application Portfolio and Lifecycle * Develop and maintain application documentation and RAID log * Adhere to change management process and procedures and develop - update the Change Log (Change and Release)

Lastly, you'll need...

* Assist in maintaining the product backlog * Ensure the controlled configuration of applications * Follow processes and best practice to ensure configuration and development of solutions are testable and traceable. * Identify new ways to exploit functionality in applications in accordance with the application roadmap * Ensure any changes are agreed with the stakeholder community and align with the IT strategy * Provide consistent application and systems documentation through all of the application lifecycle

What do I need to do the role?

Qualifications:

* Preferably educated to Degree level * Significant experience in a professional senior role such as technical lead, or other hands on leadership role ideally for a major consultancy or system integrator

Company/Industry Knowledge:

* Background of operating in Highly Regulated and / or Defence Industry (Desirable) * Experience of supporting High Availability and Critical Systems (Desirable)
