Systems Engineer / SRE (Python TCP/IP Linux). Are you a technologist with trading systems experience seeking a challenging role where you can make an impact and reap the rewards whilst continually learning and progressing your career? Your primary responsibility as a Systems Engineer will be to monitor and support trading system applications and exchanges including issue resolution, tracking and status; you will be required to solve complex problems that require both technical and business understanding working closely with traders, back-office, exchanges and developers to investigate and solve system issues and participate in business analysis.

Day-to-day you could be implementing configuration changes and software upgrades, responding to incidents and outages, creating tools to automate wherever possible, data analysis tools as well as contributing to the long term project roadmap for the trading system and collaborate with developers to design and implement new features.

Driven by technology this company can offer a remote interview / onboarding process and work from home during the current social distancing measures with a gradual return to the City offices in due course.

Requirements:

*Experience in a similar Support Analyst position, with a good knowledge of trading process, back-office systems, front-end clearing systems, order entry and policies and procedures for various exchanges

*Must have Python and shell scripting skills, familiarity with C++ a bonus

*Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking in a Linux / UNIX environment

*Good knowledge of FIX protocol

*Familiarity with DevOps , CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Ansible and git

*Experience of supporting proprietary developed applications

*Confident communicator

*Degree educated - Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent
