Be the link between leading-edge medical software and an outstanding NHS Trust.

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), is the largest acute and community trust in the UK, with over 20,000 staff that care for over million patients a year. We're embarking on an unprecedented clinical transformation programme that will revolutionise the way we work. We've partnered with a world-class medical software company to introduce Hive, a brand-new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) solution that will bring all our patient information into one easily accessible place and make our services more effective than ever before.

Hive is the largest initiative of its kind and is backed by a significant multi-million-pound investment. It's also an exciting opportunity to bring your expertise, join us at the beginning of our journey and develop through a challenging, complex project. With your help, we'll build on our leading initiatives and transform our services for the benefit of patients and staff alike.

The role

As an Interface Analyst, you'll develop, test and maintain Hive's interfaces, defining the way our staff will interact with our technology. This is a wide-ranging, role that draws on project management, technical skills, collaboration and analysis.

You'll be assigned specific interfaces to develop, which covers a variety of work including business analysis, system architecture design and quality assurance. As well as being the primary support contact for your area, you'll coordinate with other Hive teams to make sure everything we develop meets the expectations of our end users.

You'll also be able to make a big contribution to the continuous development of our services by researching new technologies, tools and standards and advising us on their potential uses.

As part of your EPR training, you'll also receive recognised qualifications in Epic, the software that Hive is based on.

Required skills and experience

We're looking for candidates with extensive knowledge in HL7 2.x and 3, FHIR and CDA messaging that can be applied to NHS workflows. You'll be a talented programmer and able to write confidently in at least one language, but also develop systems integration (using Ensemble or Mirth), and manage projects.

You should also have experience in Microsoft SQL server or even training in Epic software. Strong communication skills, collaborative skills and good organisation are essential.

You'll also need a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject. Relevant professional certifications are preferred, but not essential.

Great benefits

Join us at the forefront of change and you'll enjoy plenty of opportunities, together with all the benefits you can expect as an NHS employee. Alongside a competitive salary, you can expect a comprehensive benefits package including generous holiday entitlement, childcare support, flexible working and an NHS pension.

Personal development is important to us at MFT, and you'll also be able to move across different departments within the trust while taking advantage of quality training and learning schemes.

Diversity & Inclusion at MFT

At MFT, our ambition is to be the best place to work for individuals from every background. That's why we're committed to promoting equality of opportunity, celebrating diversity and eliminating any form of unlawful discrimination across our workforce. This way, we can create a truly inclusive environment and make sure our staff represent the communities we serve.
