Role: ScientistLocation: CardiffDuration: 3 - 6 monthsPay: up to £18/hour Development Scientist - Genomics and Cellular ResearchWe are expanding our capabilities in our Genomics Consumables business and looking to engage the appropriate expertise to lead technical contributions in this product area, with a particular focus on Next Generation Sequencing and Molecular Diagnostic workflows. Experience relating to Genomic / Molecular Biology technologies and applications, particularly Nucleic Acid extraction, isolation, purification and analysis, Real-Time PCR, use of magnetic particles in applications and products is desired. You will be involved in the transition of projects from research to development and manufacture (and product launch) as well as post launch activities such as customer issues and support, being capable of lone working but also able to work within and influencing cross-functional teams. Located at the Cardiff, UK site and reporting to the local site R+D Leader. Responsibilities will include:Cross-functional project execution including (but not limited to) concept discussion, program execution, Product design, specification, characterisation and analysis for use (primarily) in customer assay applications. Designing and completing appropriate test and characterization procedures, pilot trials, and commercial field delivery. Working with cross functional teams develop Process Validation and design transfer protocols, project plans and ensure adherence to schedules and project deadlines.Addressing regulatory issues to enable products that are developed, manufactured or distributed to meet required standards.Development Scientist Essential Criteria:1-3 years productive and broad assay experience and preferably with BSc or equivalentExperience of working within a large-scale industrial environment, Diagnostic, CRO or clinical analytical assay settingWorking knowledge of Medical Device 13485 or other Quality SystemsDesired Characteristics: Management / medical device experienceSound technical and domain experienceDemonstrated experience on global product releases throughout the entire NPI cycleStrong written and oral communication skillsSelf-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-taskDemonstrable problem-solving ability and results orientationDemonstrated LEAN skillsTo apply please send your CV's in the first instance.
