Lead Catastrophe Modeller - Market Reinsurance Broker

London

£60,000 - £100,000 per annum

I am currently working with a rapidly-growing London Market Reinsurance Broker, who are on the lookout for an experienced Catastrophe Modeller to join their Analytics team.

This is a completely unique opportunity; being the first Cat Modeller within the team, you will be expected to take full ownership of the Cat Modelling function across all business lines and lead the expansion of the team over time, thus naturally progressing into a position of management as more Cat Modellers are added to the team.

The business young, dynamic and innovative, who pride themselves on their ability to offer clients a completely bespoke approach/solution. The Analytics team is embedded within the brokers and are at the forefront of all commercial decisions.

Responsibilities include:

* Establishing client relationships, resolving questions and challenges that may arise

* Preparing summaries, presentations and reports for client projects in order to summarise potential risks and loss results, making recommendations to the client about how they can improve their portfolio

* Managing quantitative analysis projects by working with project team members in order to calculate risk exposure and potential losses that may occur due to natural and man-made catastrophes

* Reviewing analyses completed by project team members involving catastrophe risk models and evaluating the resulting data sets in order to calculate the clients risk exposure

* Developing knowledge in certain region-based or peril-based areas of catastrophe risk management services, through research or experience, in order to advance professionally and ultimately gain recognition as an expert in the industry

* Working with a team of actuaries to advise on risk, growth and volatility based on client needs and industry trends, to help clients mitigate risk

* Working closely with brokers to develop business by identifying potential areas of business growth, such as profitability analytics in existing projects

* Working with senior staff to create and develop client solutions, given client needs in respect of key areas such as risk, growth and volatility

Suitable candidates will need 3 - 6 years Catastrophe Modelling experience, ideally within a Reinsurance Broker.
