A new opportunity for an innovative Analog/RF IC Designer has arisen with a company based in Cambridge that is developing unique technology for the consumer market.  In this role you will be working on Analog/Mixed Signal and RF blocks and will be involved in developing a variety of new circuits, performing evaluations and working closely with other members of the team to reach design objectives. Responsibilities include Analog/Mixed Signal and RF IC Design; concept and feasibility study, schematic capture, IC layout and simulation as well as design verification. You will also be responsible for product design documentation and product characterisation. You will have a strong understanding of designing Analog IC blocks, schematic capture, as well as design verification. Experience with SPICE and Cadence tools is required and an understanding of Digital IC Design experience, including timing closure is desired. Someone who is not afraid to invent new ideas and to look for new ways to do things.  We are not a run of the mill design house, we are inventors of new technology, doing things that no-one has done before.  We need someone who can design without manuals and specifications. Someone who will not be afraid to try new things.  They need to be the entrepreneurial type of person who can deal with the pressures that come with new technology; someone who has the experience to know by gut-feel that something will work or not, but have the analytical expertise to produce the data to back up their suspicions.  Someone who is able to communicate well and mentor more junior staff.   Industry degree qualified, the successful application will have experience in Analog/Mixed Signal IC Design and/or RF IC Design in CMOS with experience in some or all of the following;VLSI design, layout, RFID HF and UHF interfacesTFT, organic design or metal oxide knowledge would be of interestExperience with SPICE and mixed-mode simulations and verification tools (Calibre)Digital design experience (Verilog, synthesis, timing closure) would be an advantageStrong scripting ability (Unix/Linux, shell, perl, C, etc)Excellent communication are required. The ability to well in a team as well as independently is important for the position as well as the ability to be innovative, proactive and to work to set deadlines.
