This department deliver a wide variety of projects across multiple technology platforms into numerous business areas. It is a fast paced and challenging environment to work within.The successful individual will lead, implement and support activities through creation, maintenance and support of automation and productivity tooling and work with a mixed team of TA's and automation test engineers. To gain an understanding of the testing practices followed, the technologies utilised and from these identify and lead the implement of appropriate sustainable, automation tools.Task Description The role will involve producing deliverables from a technical specialism, e.g. Test Data, Environments, Automation, Reporting to the Team Leader/Test Manager, activities include analysing customer requirements, identifying test cases, test data/environment/Automation script preparation and production.Good communication and liaison skillsProvide regular status reports to the test managerIdentify and raise project risks and issuesMandatory Technical skills: ISEB/ISTQB Foundation or equivalentProficient in designing and implementing test automation frameworks/solutions from scratchPractical experience of using automation methodologies within a CI/CD test lifecycle. BDD, TDD, DevOpsPractical experience of industry standard automation development technologies including; API automation including XML / JSON payloads and Service Virtualisation; ReadyAPI, MULE, JMeterPractical experience of industry standard automation development technologies including; Java, Selenium, Cucumber or similarPractical experience of industry standard automation development technologies including Containerisation Tools; AWS, Azure, Docker, Rancher, KubernetesPractical experience of industry standard automation development technologies including Collaboration tools Jira, MS Teams.Mandatory Business Skills:The role requires a proven ability to lead and implement automation projects whilst working well within a team environment, demonstrating excellent communication and technical skills. Working with a mixed team of test analysts and automation test engineers, the role will require the individual to gain an understanding of the testing practices followed, the technologies utilised and from these identify and lead the implement of appropriate sustainable, automation tools following the defined automation strategy, processes and frameworks, which are then easy for the test analysts to operate themselves with minimal support.
