The Enterprise Architect will be a focal point for strategic IT leadership, enabling the alignment of business and IT strategy across the organisation and external partners and supporting the execution of IT and data related investments to meet business goals.

The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, other architects, subject matter experts and suppliers to produce and maintain the target state architectural blueprint and transition roadmaps for all Lines of Business and Corporate Functions based on business strategy and requirements.

The role is cross-functional and will be a focal point for reuse and value creation across all business areas by directing and governing architecture change in the data, application and infrastructure estates in accordance with the desired target state.

Main Responsibilities

* Lead and be accountable for the development of Enterprise Architecture function and framework, sharing best practice and promoting the business value of the Enterprise Architecture, its processes and results.

* Manage the development and implementation of effective governance processes to ensure IT developments are aligned to the enterprise architecture framework.

* Establish business partnering with the senior business leaders, change directors and key stakeholders across the enterprise to identify business drivers, goals and desired future state capabilities to inform strategy formulation, IT enabled change planning and innovation.

* Lead the development and maintenance of the target (and current) state architectural blueprint and transition roadmaps based on analysis of the business desired future state capabilities to facilitate investment planning and decision making to improve and drive the business forward.

* Define and maintain the Enterprise Architecture policies, meta-model, principles and standards to ensure they are relevant, visible and applied consistently across the whole of the organisation.

* Participate in change portfolio inception activities to drive coherence with the target state architectural blueprint and roadmaps and ensure opportunities for architectural alignment, standardisation and reuse are baked in from the start of the planning process.

* Support the development of business case justifications and cost benefit analysis for proposed areas of IT and data related spending and initiatives. This includes the directing of research and innovation on potential solutions and where applicable implementation to support new initiatives.

* Drive continuous and effective oversight and governance of all architecturally significant changes to the data, application and infrastructure estates (aspirational, planned, reactive and live) to ensure engineering integrity and quality of solutions at all stages of development and to consistently apply the best EA approach.

* Maintain visibility of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise architecture and solutions.

* Contribute as a key member of the Technical Design Authority and Architecture Board to facilitate alignment to the target state blueprint and transition roadmaps.

* Manage a team of architects and functional specialists, ensuring that professionals are equipped with appropriate levels of training/certification, tools and operating frameworks to deliver against the demand.
