Within this role you will be the professional lead at a portfolio level in all aspects of benefits, evaluation and impact for UKAEA. UKAEA have an ambitious portfolio of projects and programmes focused on achieving the organisation's mission and corporate goals. This Benefits, Evaluation and Impact Lead role sits in the Project Management Office (PMO) which oversees the programmes, projects and change initiatives that make up this portfolio. Responsibilities will include: - Leading on the development of the Evaluation Framework, looking at different methods for capturing and evidencing social impact, the development of evaluation methodologies and the long-term realisation of impact from across UKAEA`s portfolio of activities - Directing departments across UKAEA to ensure the various pathways to creating good economic impact are understood and clearly communicated. The role will involve monitoring the progress towards this impact which may take several years to realise - Directing the project and programme leads on how to articulate the benefit and impact element of a business case, or associated documents. Inform how this will be monitored and evaluated to demonstrate impact throughout delivery - Embedding lessons learned from evaluation projects into appropriate departments, projects and programmes across UKAEA - Enhancing the understanding of key stakeholders, both internal and external, in the benefits of monitoring and evaluation and what it means for their working practices on a practical level At UKAEA we strive to make everyone feel welcome and fully supported. - The proven ability to present and write detailed impact case studies, progress reports and economic cases in project and programme business cases
- Proactive in seeking out opportunities to enhance an organisational approach to monitoring and evaluation of impact, across disciplines
- Degree in Economics (or equivalent experience) with the ability to research facts and analyse data
- A good awareness of proven impacts from science and innovation projects
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with colleagues and senior managers from a range of scientific, technical and corporate backgrounds
- Proven ability to use initiative and problem-solving skills to progress a wide portfolio of projects Desirable - Good background knowledge and understanding of fusion science and/or technology and engineering Special requirements: Selection Methods and Notes: - Initial interviews will be held on 12th October.
