Splunk Engineer - Farnborough - 3 months Splunk Engineer - Farnborough - 3 months Must be willing to undergo or hold SC clearance Key Accountabilities

1. Mentoring and training technical staff from multiple disciplines in the use of Splunk

2. Design and optimisation of Splunk architecture for large-scale and distributed deployments

3. Understand functional and non-functional requirements and be able convert them into a technical solution

4. Leading the establishment and adoption of best practices and development standards within a Centre of Excellence

5. Leveraging machine learning to automate and drive business efficiencies enabling digital transformation

6. Integrating Splunk with new applications and technologies introduced into the environment

7. Monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing Splunk performance

8. Work with architecture and operational teams to understand and evaluate existing processes and technical designs, recommending areas for improvement and integration

9. Evaluate and integrate new applications from Splunkbase

10. ITSI & Enterprise Security design, implementation, configuration, and management

11. Analyse Splunk infrastructure for optimization and licence cost saving opportunities

12. Create complex dashboards, customized for different users, both technical and managerial across the client

Key Capabilities/Knowledge

Leading a team of technical engineers the role requires the following:

Key Skills:

* Leading a team of technical resources in the delivery of innovative solutions for the client to benefit enabling a digital transformation

* Experience with Splunk Enterprise version 6.x or later in a distributed environment

* Design, implementation, and support of Index Clusters, Forwarders, Search-Head Clusters

* Excellent troubleshooting skills

* Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, ability to effectively explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical staff up to and including the Executive Committee

* Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently

Work Environment:

* Standard 37-hour workweek applies.

* Some overtime or non-traditional hours may be required in order to quickly address issues and for maintenance work on Live Production environments.

Experience & Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related experience

2. Splunk Certified Architect / Splunk Certified Consultant II

3. Minimum 3 years' consultative experience working with Splunk as an SME is essential

4. 5+ years of experience in programming technologies

5. ITSI & ES Experience is essential

6. Experience of automation processes and agile working methodologies
