Start ASAPA Field Support Engineer is required to by our IT Solutions Provider client in a permanent position to cover a large geographical area of South Yorkshire. The Engineer will cover Sheffield and the surrounding areas.This is a customer facing role within a challenging education environment. Working closely with other members of the Managed Services Team, you will be involved with the day-to-day support of both staff and student users across a mixture of platforms. As a member of the team you will be responding to user requests and reported problems, with responsibility for ensuring these are resolved within agreed timelines. You will also be involved in the implementation of changes or improvements required by the customer, ensuring best practice is adhered to at all times.Key Responsibilities:

* Provide technical IT support on customer sites

* Install and maintain desktop environments using appropriate tools

* Maintain accurate and concise systems documentation

* Investigate, resolve and identify root causes of incidents or problems

* Maintain accurate records of hardware and software assets

* Carry out regular pro-active checks

* Report all work done on-site via daily reportThe successful candidate will have the following Technical Knowledge and Experience:

* Strong background in providing desktop support within a mixed hardware environment (Desktops, Laptops and other mobile devices)

* Experience with the build, configuration and troubleshooting of desktop and server hardware

* Experience with user management within a Windows Active Directory; password management, group management, policy management, mailbox management, permissions management.

* Experience of Google G-Suite and O365 would be advantageous

* Experience in creating and maintaining desktop builds and deployment tools including MDT and SCCM

* Good knowledge of desktop and server backup and recovery capabilities

* Experience of Cloud based services and management.

* Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting common problems

* Experience of installing and supporting Microsoft application suite

* Awareness of typical problems and issues encountered within an Active Directory managed environment

* Experience troubleshooting common AV systems and Interactive systems including Promethean and Smart
