Our client requires a Full Stack Developer/Devops Engineer on a part time basis, the initial contract will be 2 days per week (16 hours) with the potential to increase. This role is primarily a devops/full stack role looking after servers as well as the front and back-ends. The successful candidate will also assist in the development and production of any new websites and maintain/develop our AWS based Magento 2 e-commerce solution.ResponsibilitiesWrite well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practicesRelease management, deployment and QA of live systemsIntegrate data from various back-end services and databasesGather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needsCreate and maintain good software documentationBe responsible for maintaining and expanding our sites, both in terms of infrastructure and softwareStay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activitiesCooperate with web designers to match visual design intent RequirementsProven experience of working with the AWS hosting environment and all associated technologies (Redis, EC2, Elasticsearch, S3, Elasticache, RDS, ELB)Excellent LAMP Stack administration and Linux cmd practical experienceProven working experience in web application development or backend developmentThorough understanding and experience with DevOps or SRE principlesProven working experience with projects hosted in AWS or other cloud environmentsA solid understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)Top-notch programming skills in PHPGood understanding of JavascriptFamiliarity with one or more of the following frameworks/CMS: Laravel, Wordpress, Vue.JSProven experience with Magento 2 or other e-commerce solutionsSolid knowledge of relational database systems such as MySQL and/or PostgresqlThorough knowledge of CI/CD practices and mastery of GIT or other CVSFamiliarity with front-end languages (e.g. HTML, JavaScript and CSS)Excellent understanding of GoCD, opsworks and Chef build and release tools.Excellent problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skillsStrong organisational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of time lines and budgets with business acumenAbility to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniquesA solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practicesBSc in computer science or a related field
