Role: Infrastructure ArchitectLocation: LondonType: PermSalary: Negotiable Role:Responsible for the infrastructure architecture across on-premise / private and public cloud ecosystem. The role will be responsible for cloud adoption, application design patterns and cloud management and monitoring.A hands-on infrastructure architect with extensive experience of working in a secure environment at the cutting-edge high of performance computing.Key Skills:Own cloud migration strategy and roadmap for products working with SQUADS in multidisciplinary teamsResponsible for ensuring solutions are scalable, robust and secureOwn the network design including virtual private cloud, VPN, firewallsDevelop standards and guidance for the adoption of cloud servicesOwn the strategy to deliver High performance compute and peta byte scale storageWork with product teams, devOps and sysOps engineers to provide assistance with designing and building out the infrastructure using infrastructure as codeProvide governance and oversight of infrastructure architectureMonitor systems and provide proactive performance and cost optimisation supportReview and support the testing of changes to networks / hosted systems / cloud configuration changesProduce patterns and support quality assurancePerform reviews of deployed technology solutions to ensure that solutions have adopted best practicesKnow and understand the meaning behind our virtues of Empathy, Integrity, Focus, Connection, Speed, Curiosity, Impact and embody them in all aspects of your role Cloud Skills:Own the architecture for core shared components cloud services include key management, Identity and access management, loggingDevelop standards and guidance for the adoption of cloud servicesAbility to script CI/CD CloudFormation / TerraformTrack record of implementing complex cloud migration projects Security Skillset:Ensure all products are secure by designProvide guidance and develop security patterns and best practiceResearch and design security features of productsEnsure all clinical data is secure at rest and transit appropriately encryptedStay up to date on cyber security threats, tools and best practiceDemonstrated understanding of security implications of transformation - Challenge and lead changes to policy and processes to support business outcomes, business architecture, and legal and political implicationsAnalysis - Ability to provide analysis and support to identify cyber security risksCommunication skills - Ability to communicate security risks to technical and non-technical usersDesign secure systems - Lead the design and review of complex solution architectures to ensure the solution meets security guidance and best practiceSecurity technology and understanding - understand and articulate the impact of vulnerabilities on existing and future designs, systems and how easy or difficult it will be to exploit these vulnerabilities. Recognised as an expert by peers in the broader security industryResearch and innovation - Able to contribute to and inform developments on security properties in technology. You can identify new technologies and design the use of these in the business context across the organisation. Essential Skills:Deep knowledge & practical experience (4 years plus) of public cloud services implementationExpertise in network / firewalls architecture / designAbility to architect and deliver solutions in a complex, petabyte scale, High Performance Compute environmentAbility to script (python, PowerShell)Ability to architect secure, fault tolerant, scalable solutionsExcellent communications skillsExperience managing / designing data centre operations including auditing, monitoring, alteringHands on expertise across technology infrastructure including networking, compute, storage and virtualisation/ containerisation Desirable skills:AWS certified advanced networking specialistExperience of HPC high performance I/O solutions Weka.io / Luster sfxExperience with cloud identify services IAM OktaExperience of architecting and securing object stores, relational and non-relational databases at Peta byte scale e.
