Dev Ops Engineer - Sheffield up to £45,000 + Benefits

About the Role

We have an opportunity for a technically highly skilled and versatile DevOps Engineer to join an innovative FinTech business undergoing significant digital diversification.

Working primarily with the LINUX systems hosted on AWS, you'll have a passion for software development at an enterprise level. Your DevOps orientated knowledge will cover Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment best practices. In addition to building the AWS platform, maintained and supported using infrastructure as code, continuous integration, automated testing and automated deployment.

You'll contribute to a close-knit Agile team of Developers, Testers and Designers and will work with the wider business to maintain and deploy scalable, highly available application solutions that leverage AWS services. In exchange, you'll be given time to develop your own projects and work toward industry qualifications.

This a remote home-based role, however, you will need to be comfortable with occasional travel to Our office in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

About you

Essential

Enterprise-level experience in working with LINUX systems

Experience with Pipeline as Code (YAML)

Experience with version control systems

Strong root cause analysis skills

Experience in Agile working

Experience building and maintaining high-traffic web applications

Cloud platform build and migration

Enterprise DevOps transformation

Cloud-native software development

Desirable

Experience writing Python, Bash or Ruby 

DevSecOps and cloud security

Experience with Jenkins

Experience using NoSQL databases

Understanding and knowledge of software design patterns

Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture

Experience using containers and container orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes)

Experience with Amazon Web Services (API GW, Lambda, DDB, SQS, ASG, ELB)

Experience with ELK Stack
