Lead Java Developer London to £100k

Lead Java Developer / Software Engineer (Backend Java JVM Kotlin AWS) *Remote Interview WFH*. Are you a Java technologist looking to progress your career to a leadership position and remain hands-on with technology? You could be heading up a small team of likeminded engineers working on a ground breaking search technology using the latest technologies.

As a Lead Java Developer at this pioneering search technology start-up you will provide technical leadership to a small team, including task planning, code reviews and staff development, enabling continual learning through 10% time and allocated training budgets.

You will work with other engineers to remove pain points, optimise workflows and enhance the intelligence and capabilities of the system, taking technical ownership and working with Product Owners and Marketing to flesh out business requirements and ensure that the team is solving the right problems to help the business. You'll ensure that the team adheres to high standards and follows best practice using Agile methodologies for rapid delivery, there's a lot of new Greenfield development projects as well as optimisation and scalability work.

You'll be based in modern open plan City offices with casual dress code and friendly, informal atmosphere with flexible working (3 days a week a home if desired).

Requirements:

Strong Java development experience; Python, Ruby also desirable

Experience of taking technical ownership of a specific application, product or infrastructure

Technical leadership experience

Keen to work with new and emerging technology such as Kotlin on AWS

Collaborative nature, keen to learn and share knowledge with others

Business acumen / entrepreneurial

Degree educated, Computer Science preferred
