LOCATION - South West

RATE - NEGOTIABLE (OUTSIDE IR35)

DURATION - 12 months

CLEARANCE REQUIRED - SC CLEARANCE AS MINIMUM

Overview

The Interoperability Services Federation Service supports the Federation Team providing technical engineering and architecting subject matter expertise to ensure NSoIT(D) can exploit and be exploited by the various services that enable interoperability with international partners and other Government Departments (OGD) to deliver end to end services. These services are, primarily, delivered by the Interoperability Services and Gateway Programme within Deployed Platform Services.

The Interoperability Services Federation Service is responsible for:

*Supporting the identification, capture, and analysis of interoperability service federation requirements, including identifying errors, omissions, or opportunities.

*Produce and maintain Interoperability Services element of the NSoIT(D) Architecture.

*Providing specialist technical engineering advice to the OpNET Solution Design Authority and Engineering, to ensure that any federation requirements with interoperability services are understood and delivered.

*Assisting in the design and development of the NSoIT(D) solution to meet federation requirements with interoperability services.

*Assisting in the planning and conduct of any test and assurance activity with the interoperability services.

*Ensuring that NSoIT(D) remains interoperable with the various services.

*Acting as Engineering's point of contact for interoperability services.

*Provide technical input to risk reviews.

Essential skills, qualifications, and experience

In order to deliver this service, it is essential that individuals have:

*A Systems Engineering or IT background with a minimum of 10 years' experience.

*Demonstrable experience and understanding of:

oExisting interoperability services,

oDelivering interoperability between and federation of operational services.

oCapturing and modelling information system and service architectures.

oDelivering a complex enterprise ICS solution.

oCoordinating with other teams towards task completion.

*An understanding of the Boundary Access Registration and Authorisation (BARA) process.

*Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to solve problems and propose new ideas.

*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

*Competency in MS Office Suite, including Visio.

*Competency in enterprise architecture tools, such as BizzDesign or SparxEA.

*Hold a current SC clearance and be prepared to undergo higher level learance.

Desirable skills, qualifications, and experience

In order to deliver this service, it is desirable that individuals have:

*Knowledge of the Atlassian toolset (JIRA and Confluence) to record and document work.

*A qualification in a recognised project management methodology such as PRINCE2 / APMP / MSP or SAFe4/Agile equivalent.

*A Level 2 (Practitioner) IT Service Management Framework qualification (eg ITIL Practitioner).
