Job Title: IT Support Engineer
Location: Wokingham, Berkshire, RG41 2FD
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, dependent upon experience
Position: Full Time, 6 months Fixed Term Contract
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an IT Support Engineer to join The Company based in Wokingham, Berkshire, for a fixed term appointment.
They are one of the world's leading developers of product identification and barcoding software. They have been developing high quality labelling and Auto ID solutions to companies in a wide range of industries for over 30 years. They bring together a combination of skills, experience, products and services that are unique in the labelling and identification market.
About you:
You will be working within a small IT team providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support to internal Customers in the UK and US and assist the IT Manager in managing the IT Infrastructure and delivering projects.
It is essential that you are customer-focussed and organised, with a positive mindset. Equally important is the ability to take ownership yourself and make sure that tasks are completed.
You will have the opportunity to be involved in the introduction and development of new systems.
Job Duties:
First, second and third line IT support of the internal information systems including desktop support, client builds and user account management
Ensuring the smooth running of all international IT systems including LAN, WAN, VPN, fixed and mobile telecommunications and data services, Windows Servers and Clients
Assist the IT Manager in supporting and managing the IT infrastructure including Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365, Watchguard firewalls and Avaya VoIP phone system
Liaise with the IT Manager to ensure that they are maximising value on IT spend such as licensing, out-sourcing, mobiles, landline and Internet facilities in both UK and US offices
Developing reports using SQL Reporting Services
Stay 'current' with new technologies and IT trends
The Candidate:
IT Administration Skills:
Office 365 (specifically Exchange Online, Teams and SharePoint)
Windows 10
Windows Server 2008 and above including DHCP, DNS, Hyper-V and DFS
Active Directory including Group Policy
Exchange Server 2010 and above
ERP System experience (preferably Infor Syteline)
ITIL Helpdesk System experience
CRM System experience (preferably Salesforce)
SQL Server 2008 and above, including Reporting Services
Working knowledge of VPN and WAN technologies
Working knowledge of network routing and firewalls
Systems security
Client-server applications
Telephone systems and VoIP (preferably Avaya IP Office)
Anti-virus and -malware technologies with centralised management
Hardware support for laptops, desktops, and servers
Support Skills:
A logical approach to diagnostics and problem solving
Ability to take ownership of issues and see through to completion
Documentation Skills:
Ability to write clearly and concisely with a good attention to detail and quality (fit for purpose)
Communication Skills:
Communicate effectively with manager and colleagues at all levels
Ability to quickly and accurately gather diagnostic information
Qualifications:
A degree or industry recognised equivalent in a computer/numerate subject
A background or experience in a technical support or other IT environment
Desirable Skills:
Other Databases (Oracle, Access, etc.)
PowerShell
T-SQL
Power BI
