UX Designer Birmingham to £42k
UX Designer. Are you a creative UX Designer? You could be utilising your skills working on "Tech for Good" software and making your mark. The company works with stakeholders across the energy sector (consumers, industry, academia and government) to identify innovation priorities, gaps in the market and overcome barriers to accelerating the decarbonisation of the energy system at the lowest cost.
As a UX Designer you'll help the company to demonstrate its expertise applying user-centred design and creative problem solving to help consumers understand complex information. You'll collaborate with Researchers, Data Scientists and Business Analysts to create innovative user experiences and design collateral for future energy services.
Day-to-day you'll be generating prototype sketches and storyboards to illustrate concepts and contribute to iterative UX design; creating visually appealing and meaningful personas and proto personas; producing low fidelity and high fidelity wireframes; supporting ad-hoc design projects for things like microsites, research surveys and marketing collateral and generate feedback from consumers.
Driven by technology the company can offer a remote interview and onboarding process as well as work from home; in time you'll be joining a friendly, relaxed team based in Central Birmingham (10 minute walk from 3 mainline stations); with flexible working hours and 2-3 days a week WFH going forwards.
Requirements:
You have commercial experience as a UX Designer and a have a portfolio of work
You're a skilled illustrator with strong graphical skills, comfortable sketching on paper, making prototypes or perfecting pixels
You're able to deliver design for both web and mobile employing a UCD approach
You have experience of producing low fidelity and high fidelity wireframes
You have a good understanding of the full software technology stack and how UX design is developed and impacts the rest of the stack
You're a collaborative team player
Ideally you will have an interest in low carbon / energy markets and be keen to gain a strong knowledge of the products / industry
