Salary - £47,584 - £54,237, plus an additional allowance of up to £10,000 for exceptional candidates. We are on the lookout for a colleague to lead the design, development and delivery of the data management strategy. Our Head of Data Management will be joining an expanding team at an exciting point in our digital transformation.  From Theory Tests to Vehicle Recalls, our services enable millions of people in the UK every year.  Our products and apps use machine learning and artificial intelligence, virtual reality, CGI and serverless solutions.  Our vision is underpinned by a clear strategy which allows our staff to develop and grow. Roles Responsibilities include (but not limited to):  Leading the design, development and delivery of the data strategy and vision, including support for digital transformation 
Ensuring that the data strategy and activities align with and support the DVSA's overall strategy, policies and standards 
Lead by example to instill an effective data governance framework within DVSA 
Implementing data systems, including the piloting and selection of data governance, quality, reporting and analysis software 
Shape and own a roadmap of data leverage initiatives relevant to the priorities of DVSA 
Manage a budget of circa £1 million per annum  About you You will also have experience in and be competent in the following areas:  Experience of an architecture driven approach in an agile delivery environment  Design, Development and Delivery of Data Governance, Data Management and Data Quality Programs  Knowledge, understanding and experience of data management and related technology  Expertise in data modelling principles, understanding the opportunity for re-use and alignment between data models in different functional areas  Proven ability to set strategic direction at department-level, keeping sight of both long-term vision and short-term goals. Team management, able to inspire, motivate and develop others in order to deliver against the department's objectives  Proficient in implementing data systems and deriving associated business benefits  Significant experience of defining and managing data architectures in a complex organisation  We are committed to encouraging and enabling our staff to develop in and above their role and will support you through further development opportunities/qualifications.
