Job description
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency is expanding their digital team. We work on high-profile digital products used by millions of people every year. Roles Responsibilities include (but not limited to):  Ensuring DVSA has the strategies, policies and processes in place to ensure compliance with the GDPR across the digital and 
non digital estate.  Championing data protection throughout the organisation and across government, embedding standards and ways of 
working for the Information & Technology community  Advise the Line Management chain and ultimately the DVSA Board, justifying advice given ensuring consideration is given to 
business impact to deliver a balanced view whilst maintaining the independence required for the role.  Provide clear advice verbally and in writing articulating the legal basis for the advice.  Lead negotiations on new MoUs DVSA wishes to be party to ensuring DVSA interests are represented and acknowledge as part 
of the agreements.  About you  In order to be considered for this role, you will have a clear understanding of risk management and how risk appetite influences advice you provide, a history of working collaboratively and inclusively with external organisations and other stakeholders, sharing information and knowledge to achieve common aims and a proven and adaptable communicator and listener, you will be highly skilled in the delivery and absorption of information, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues at all levels.  You will also have experience in and be competent in the following areas: 
A background in managing diverse teams of people, motivating them to deliver challenging and sometimes conflicting objectives  Experience in assessing and improving compliance and reporting on this to all levels.  Experience of information and records management function and be able to advice on Freedom of Information legislation and supporting the business with any training.  Experience of compliance auditing and presentation of audit reports to Business Units and Third-Party Suppliers.  We are committed to encouraging and enabling our staff to develop in and above their role and will support you through further development opportunities/qualifications.  To apply you will be re-directed to the civil service jobs page.
