You are a Senior Unix Engineer (m/f/d) looking for a new project? Our client, an international management consultancy offers an outstanding and exciting opportunity for freelance Senior Unix Engineers (m/f/d). Your tasks as Senior Unix Engineer: Primary responsibility is to provide support on the overall Unix technologies, ensuring customer delight as per the defined size, effort and schedule confirming to quality standards and best practices.Maintain and improve SLA's and ensure compliance to Client policies at all times.Actively participate to achieve organization objectives for efficiency.Perform pro-active analysis on day-to-day work to obtain automation on deliveries thereby reducing repetitive and standardized tasks/processesProvide UNIX technical support and expertise to the Project & Delivery teams (Linux RHEL/SLES - AIX/VIOs, Solaris/Containers)Configure hardware and software environments, including inter-connectivity and all system components (VERITAS Cluster)Meet the delivery standards as per the agreement that includes quality of deliverables, documentationInteract with application, projects and other infrastructure teamsStatus communication and timely reportingUnderstanding of functional requirements and translation of business requirements into technical specificationsProactively identify problem situations and resolve to give maximum customer satisfactionEscalation used only where necessary, appropriate measures are taken to improve and sustain high quality and prevent recurrence.Leadership & TeamworkBrainstorm with team leaders and peers on emerging technology trends, constantly question, clarify from teams and ensure that critical technology issues are surfaced and consideredOperational Effectiveness & ControlSuggest process enhancementEnsure the project documentation is up to dateEnsure strict adherence to Client Group Compliance PoliciesIn a global team structure, ensure that best practices are used to support the diverse customer groupYour Profile: Minimum Five Years of experience in UNIX/Linux Infrastructure.Expertise on Administration and troubleshooting of UNIX Operating System (Linux/Solaris/AIX)Great knowledge on VMWare, Symantec Storage Foundation, Veritas Cluster Server (Configuration/Troubleshooting)Troubleshooting of VERITAS Volume Manager, VERITAS Cluster Server and VERITAS Netbackup Client.Ability to develop UNIX Shell Script.Understating of LVM/SVMUnderstanding of Network OSI Model, TCP/IP and Routing.Good knowledge of RAID Levels such as RAID-0, RAID-1, RAID-1+0, RAID-5.Able to manage and configure EMC/Hitachi LUNs on UNIX (AIX/Solaris/Linux) servers.Knowledge in Automatization via Ansible and Control-M is a big plusUnderstanding of multipath concept and its implementation as well.The right candidate needs to have a thorough understanding of the environments to provide best service quality. The candidate should have very good hands-on experience in the underlying infrastructure/platforms. He will work closely with the stakeholders to avail/impart all necessary training from time to time to ensure enhanced service deliveryIndustry standard certifications for UNIX domainShould be well versed with ITIL concepts and more specific understanding of Service operations activitiesCommunication and interpersonal skillsClient focused, great team and sharing spirit, autonomous and rigorousEffective time managementAbility to work effectively as a team player.Working across cultures.Conditions: Start: as soon as possibleDuration: min. until 12/2020Workload: 9 hours with 30 minutes lunch / dinner break (Could be requested to work on weekends)Location: Geneva, SwitzerlandInterested?
