Software Developer / Engineer (VB6 SQL C# .Net). Want to work on complex and interesting algorithmic systems, creating tech for good within a flexible working environment? 

Leading scientific software house is seeking a highly intelligent and "scientifically minded" Software Developer with VB6 experience to join an exceptional development team designing and developing software to aid in the discovery of solutions for the Life Sciences and pharmaceuticals industry.

As a Software Developer you will specialise in desktop applications integrating with automated liquid handlers from a multitude of hardware vendors. The team will be developing new enhancements to a mature VB6 application crucial to many large pharmaceuticals and bio-tech companies and assist with longer term modernising of the application (Cloud migration).

Driven by technology this company is able to offer a remote interview and onboarding process during the current social distancing measures; going forward you'll be expected to be in the office 2 days a week with the other 3 working from home.

Requirements:

Strong academic record, degree (2:1 or above) from a top tier University in a technical or numerate discipline (MSc or PhD advantageous)

Strong software development experience with VB6

Good knowledge of SQL

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ideally you will have experience with any of the following: VB.Net, ASP.Net, C#, Oracle databases
