You'll have the opportunity to work on highly technical cutting edge projects, enabling customers to protect, improve and advance their vital interests.The RoleYou'll be required to manage the delivery of major projects in order to deliver the defined Business and customer benefits that meets the Project Business Case and Project Mandate. Our client's IT projects are always very technical and require an understanding of IT environments, best practices and industry standards.As a Project Manager, you will need to manage business requirements and costs against the Technical Architects recommendations for market leading and often expensive IT solutions, as well as being able to challenge the technical staff.You'll also need to bring experience in the field of IT to understand the implications of introducing and integrating new complex solution into live IT environments. The initial projects that the new PM will undertake include the upgrade of the existing Data Centre and Core LAN infrastructure, as well as managing the migration of multiple core applications

Key Accountabilities:Leading a project team on the day-to-day management of various projects to deliver various objectivesEnsuring projects meet governance and compliance requirements in accordance with policies and processesManagement of suppliers, where appropriate, to ensure the fulfilment of the requirements within a Statement of Works that meets the standards of the Project MandateManage and resolve scheduling conflicts and where required seek additional support either internally or externallyManage resourcing forecast through the use of appropriate toolsWork with procurement to obtain pricing and manage the purchase of all materials associated to the delivery of projectsManagement of risks and issues and the implementation of mitigation strategiesArrange periodic meetings with teams and team leads to discuss all activitiesProduce periodic reports and review as requiredKey Capabilities/Knowledge:Good knowledge of Project Management principles in accordance with industry standardsKnowledge and experience as graded in PMCDF competency framework for Project ManagersTeam Leadership including the management of relationships and conflicts within project teamResource and financial managementWorking within the Life Cycle process to ensure the quality of the project is structured and achievedA reasonable level of commercial awareness and the ability to negotiate with internal teamIndustry recognised qualification. i.e. Prince2 / AMP / PMPDemonstrable experience of full Lifecycle Project Management
