We form part of the Manpower group of companies that turn over $20 billion a year collectively.Job Purpose:Deliver incident support to the Duty Platform Controller team through the accurate detection and logging of faults and email managementEnsure the premium broadcast content is robustly delivered without fault through the accurate completion of proactive & reactive service and system checksAssist the Duty Platform Controller team with volume broadcast incidents through their effective triage, prioritisation, logging and problem managementContribute to the first line support of Launches, Premier's and Special EventsAssist the Duty Platform Controller team with operational readiness activities during trials and early life supportSupport the expansion of existing platforms and technological innovation by providing operational support to PCC, Dev Leads & Project managementOverview of DepartmentPlatform Control provides first line support for the Client's platform 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The department is responsible for monitoring and control of the Client's broadcast distribution platforms (DTH & OTT Apps). The main objective of the department is to ensure effective operation of the diverse range of systems and timely detection and resolution of faults are in place in order to achieve the highest possible service availability for our customers.Key Responsibilities:Deliver incident support to PCC in order to help minimise downtime to the Clients customers, Wholesale Partners and 3rd Party Content ProvidersUsing available monitoring tools and fault notifications quickly and accurately diagnose impact & incident priorityAccurately complete all checks whether proactive or reactive and maintain accurate records of incidents and their statusFollow the correct escalation procedures to effectively prioritise & manage incidents in a timely and professional mannerUnderstand how Incidents relate to Problems and assist PCC in identifying trends impacting stabilitySupport/Chair daily review calls with stakeholdersContribute to comprehensive handovers between shifts.Ensure all housekeeping duties are performed. Such duties include the management of the Platform Control Inbox, the general tidiness of PCC, the upkeep of pertinent information and other related tasks which help the efficient running of the Platform.Provide operational support for new developments including User Acceptance testing.To be aware of the potential impact of upcoming planned maintenance. To proactively monitor potentially affected systems while work is going on and report unforeseen symptoms to change implementers.Essential Skills:A level Education or equivalentSolid IT skillsWorks effectively as part of a team to resolve incidentsAttention to Detail / MethodicalExcellent communicationSound judgementDesirable Skills:Technical Higher Education AwardITIL FoundationExperience of Broadcast (DTH & OTT Apps) Platforms systems and workflowsFirst Line Technical/Operational Support RoleBroadcast ExperienceExperience of Platform systems & workflowsWorking knowledge of Databases, Microsoft, Unix or LinuxUnderstanding of NetworksTechnical Skills:Working understanding of all the Client's customer facing broadcast servicesWorking Understanding of DTH & OTT Workflows & infrastructure in line with Associate responsibilitiesWorking understanding of all Monitoring Tools deployed in PCCCapable of performing all Daily ChecksCapable of troubleshooting and escalating broadcast incidentsCompetence in the use of SparkPlease submit your CV in the first instance if you have the above skills.
