28th August 2020 Are you a proactive, inclusive and exceptionally well-organised individual with a flair for complex engineering project delivery, project controls and reporting? Do you have experience of managing the definition, planning, delivery and forecasting of large numbers of concurrent commercial projects consisting of complex R&D, engineering, and business activities? If so, the UK Atomic Energy Authority have a rare opportunity for an experienced and inclusive Portfolio Delivery Leader to join their team at the new UKAEA Yorkshire Facility or based from Culham in Oxfordshire. The team is currently being established and this is an outstanding opportunity to become one of the first key management appointments in UKAEA's first expansion to a new region in over decade. As part of the Fusion Technology Business Unit (FTBU) senior management team, reporting to the UKAEA Head of Yorkshire, you will be accountable for the effectiveness of project management, planning and business reporting for the entire business unit across two sites. This includes: - Drive, grow and nurture the FTBU project delivery group across the Rotherham and Culham sites
- Own the Business Unit master plan, providing a consistent and best practice commercial approach to delivering projects
- Proactively manage capability and capacity planning for the Business Unit, ensuring a sustainable workload across all projects is achieved  To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and drive matrixed project management resources, ensuring a consistent product and level of performance across the portfolio. You will also be fully conversant with modern project management and controls tools and techniques and be able to adapt to suit the project environment. - Chartered Engineer
- Engineering or technology degree or equivalent experience
- Chartered Project Manager or equivalent qualifications and experience
- Extensive experience in managing complex technology projects, programmes, or portfolios
- Ability to assess and manage complex technology work
- Ability to lead and manage people to deliver desired outcomes while maintaining lasting relationships
- Experienced in full life-cycle delivery
- Experienced in managing operational and capital projects
- Experienced in managing project and business change Special requirements:
