Linux Administrator

Location: Leeds/ Home Working

£275 per dayMy client is searching for an experience Linux Administrator to support the existing Linux team whilst they transform and standardise their offering.Experience

* Linux system administration

o Primarily RHEL-based (inc. Centos)

o Some debian-based

* Solaris

* MySQL/MariaDB

* Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing complex end-user problems with software and GUI desktop environments

* Experience supporting the use of Linux and common end-user software, e.g. python, anaconda, singularity, latex, etc

* Creating and reviewing documentation

* Supporting Virtual environments

* Remote end-user support, including remote access to and use of Linux systems from other platforms (e.g. Windows, Mac)

* Support of users and Linux systems in technically diverse (preferably academic RH/Centos) environment

* Deployment of software / operating systems using enterprise level management tools like puppet (version 3-5)/satelliteSkills

* Basic sysadmin

* SSSD

* Satellite

* Active directory (connectivity from Linux and use for authentication/authorisataion and mapping)

* Puppet

* Web servers

* Networking

* Coding/scripting: at least bash and something else (python, perl, etc)

* Linux on the desktop and server

* Software packaging - Env Modules, RPM, compiling from source
