We are currently recruiting developers at various levels to join a small support team which provides fixes and makes changes to existing systems in .Net. UKHO is an executive agency, sponsored by the Ministry of Defence. We work with a wide range of data partners to chart the world's oceans in order to develop and serve world leading software and data solutions to commercial shipping companies, navies and maritime organisations. Our products ensure safe navigation and global trade efficiency and support other marine activities including economic development, environmental protection, resource exploration and utilisation, scientific research and security and defence.

The role

Depending on your experience and skill set, you will join the team as either a Software Developer, Senior Software Developer or an Expert Developer and will work across a wide range of technologies in?.Net, deploying solutions to Azure as well as to our own infrastructure. Working with a close knit, Agile support team of developers, testers, a product owner and a delivery manager, infrastructure specialists, UX experts?and analysts, you will design and craft software solutions, including unit testing and pair programming and use automated testing and deployment to build and support a continuous delivery environment. 

You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with others in the development community, identifying good practices we can adopt, sharing knowledge of tools and techniques with the wider team and take part in the support of applications and platforms. 

Quality is paramount and you will be supported to do good work.? Most?code?is done in pairs or larger?groups to ensure quality and to spread knowledge.? Everyone reviews code and everyone welcomes feedback.?You will also be able to continually develop your own skills as part of a programme of continuous professional development. 

What we are looking for

If you have good working knowledge of C# .Net or a similar language and of crafting good quality code in C# .Net. with experience of design principles and patterns we would be delighted to hear from you.
