Process Engineer12 month contract - potential extension Cardiff£23.00ph We are developing and investing in our capabilities for several areas of the business with a focus in our multiwell plates. We're excited to be offering the opportunity to join our team and are looking for some someone with the expertise to contribute to the technical requirements in this product area. As an engineer, you will be involved in the design, development, characterisation and transition of projects from research to development through to manufacture. You will have experience in and actively participate in all aspects of a development process and play a role, capable of lone working, but also able to work within cross-functional teams. Responsibilities:Providing Knowledge and technical capabilities in design engineering, measurement testing for tolerance confirmation, specification definition, conversion of outputs to CAD and 3D CAD models through tools such as SolidWorks, practical development through e.g. 3D prototyping and finishing, other material handing tools and device testing.Work with internal cross-functional teams and external customers to develop Process Validation and design transfer protocols and participate in manufacturing transfer, efficiency and reliability.Complying with safety practices, ensuring that all work is assessed and conducted in a safe manner, within Company and statutory requirements and regulationsProviding support to, and working collaboratively with, Supply Chain, Project management, Product Management and Quality personnel in the formation of product requirement specifications that ensure customer satisfaction (especially in field of laboratory filtration). Providing support to and working collaboratively with Sourcing, Supplier quality engineering in raw material performance managing, supplier audit via acting as technical expert. Applying working knowledge / understanding of device manufacturing process such as injection moulding and materials, Advanced manufacturing and automated production line needsTechnical writing of reports, publications and product support materials to agreed timelinesInternal (project reviews to key stakeholders) and external (scientific meetings), oral and poster presentation of project resultsRequired Qualifications / Experience:Bachelor's Degree (hrs) in Mechanical or Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, Biology, Chemistry or similar technical background.Experience designing and manufacturing prototype solutions.SolidWorks / CAD & 3D CADStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated team working and scientific coordination/leadership skills.Rigorous thinking, self-motivated, eager to learning new knowledge, able to work independent.Flexibility and adaptabilityPrior experience of plastic engineering or injection moulding.Prior experience of additive (3D) manufacturing technologyExperience of direct customer interaction on technical and product performance challenges.Technical writing of reports, publications and product support materials to agreed timelines.If you feel you would be suitable, please send in your CV
