Job Title: SHEQ DirectorLocation: HuntingdonSalary: Competitive depending on experienceJob type: Permanent, Full timeThe Company is an independent organisation delivering telecommunications services across mobile, fixed and optical networks.They currently have an opening for a SHEQ Director to ensure that the company remains compliant with H&S legislation by actively implementing and monitoring its processes and systems. You'll be a member of the senior management team that defines the strategy, drives implementation, and monitors the performance of the health, safety, environment, and quality programs to meet the company ambition of being a leader in the field.Key Responsibilities:Define the strategy and direction for the SHEQ programs for the businessEmbed behaviours and values in the company culture that support the SHEQ agenda and are in keeping with the company objective to drive continuous improvementDetermine the appropriate managements systems standards, certification and levels of implementation that will ensure that the business meet customer expectations, function to a high standard but not burden the business with unnecessary processDevelop and implement programs to maintain high standards of health, safety, environment, and quality that ensures the business maintains legal compliance, meets, and exceeds customer expectation and work to positively support the businessDevelopment of systems and tools to meet the requirements of the business as it further develops.Establish mechanisms to measure performance, define achievable targets against which to report progressEstablish a robust process to ensure that all serious incidents, failures, and events are thoroughly investigated, root cause analysis is completed, and action plans defined and deliveredAct as the main point of contact for customers, external parties and enforcing agencies on SHEQ mattersEnsure that the business is aware of and in a position to respond to changes in legislation, customer requirements and changes in industry practice through networking and analysisStatistical reports identifying, measuring, and resolving significant risks or nonconformitiesManage and drive the annual SHEQ objectives and business initiativesDevelopment and introduction of systems and tools to meet the requirements of business in the most effective mannerDevelop and foster relationships with Nokia, clients, and the general supply chainThe Candidate:CMIOSH or working towardsGood understanding of risk and quality management methodologiesPractical working knowledge of ISO management systems - ISO9001/ TL9000 essential - OHSAS 45001/ 18001 / ISO14001 extremely beneficialHolds a valid full UK Driving LicenceIn depth understanding of key risk areas in the telecoms industry - working at height, road safety, construction operations, electrical workStrong leadership, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence at all organisational levelsStrategy development and implementation of sensible risk - based solutionsExperience of building and maintaining customer relationships is essentialProven experience in a similar role, preferably with telecoms or similar multisite and or construction / utilities experienceIncident, event failure investigation and corrective action development, with customer / external stakeholder or enforcing authority involvement preferableProficient experience in planning and project managementProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPointPlease click the APPLY button to send your CV and Cover Letter for this role.Candidates with the relevant experience or job titles of; SHEQ Director, Environment Director, Quality Assurance Director, Quality Advisor, Health and Safety Director, SHEQ Officer, SHEQ Advisor, Health and Safety Advisor, Quality Officer, Environmental Coordinator, Environment Advisor, Health and Safety Officer will also be considered for this role.
