Software Engineer London to £150k
Software Engineer / Developer (C++17 Optimisation Mathematical Solvers MINLP AMPL CPLEX). Would you like to work on complex and interesting mathematically based software systems, be challenged and take ownership? You could be joining a well-funded technology start-up and making your mark.
As a Software Engineer you will join a small team and work closely with the CTO / CEO to take a lead role in the design and development of the core product, a highly complex mathematically based optimisation solution that uses non-linear equations to turn questions into mathematically based queries. You'll focus on code optimisation, utilising your skills to ensure optimum solutions and help bring the product to market (with official launch planned for later this year).
You'll be based in East London in a small, collaborative team environment; there's a shuttle bus from the mainline station and lots of pop-up food stalls just outside to make lunchtimes interesting.
Driven by technology this company is able to offer a remote interview / onboarding process during the current social distancing measures and offer flexible working conditions moving forward including the ability to work from home.
Requirements:
You'll have a background in mathematical optimisation with extensive experience of researching and developing algorithms for solving (nonconvex and convex) MINLPs (mixed integer nonlinear programs) and MILPs (mixed integer linear programs); particularly strong in MINLPs and/or MILPs (research level)
You have experience of solving real-world problems by applying optimisation techniques coupled with strong modelling skills
You have experience with optimisation modelling systems (e.g. AMPL, GAMS and AIMMS) and solvers (e.g. CPLEX, GUROBI, XPRESS, KNITRO, CONOPT, IPOPT, BONMIN, BARON)
You're skilled with C++ / C including multi-threading, distributed systems engineering and GPU programming
You have experience with designing and implementing high performance mathematical optimisation solvers
You're collaborative and able to take a lead role able to communicate effectively with the technical team and sales / marketing
You can work fairly autonomously and take ownership of new projects, building stuff from scratch
As a Software Engineer you will earn a competitive salary (to £150k, negotiable), plus benefits.
