Following creation of a new team within Deloitte internal IT Services (ITS), a Cloud & DevOps Solution Architect is required to help lead technology change within the organisation and ensure all new services across the North West European and Global Member Firms are managed and architected in line with strategy and best industry practice.

Your role
Your role will focus on helping our internal teams architect and engineer modern, agile cloud environments, using Visual Studio Team Services to help with Application Lifecycle Management.

Key responsibilities include:
   •   Passionate expert in one of the following areas: Systems administration, infrastructure automation, "full-stack" software development, virtualization/cloud/container platforms, environments and configuration management
   •   Collaborate daily with development teams, business analyst, operations and Solution Architects to build and operate environments
   •   Be a custodian of the implementation of a team's Deployment Pipeline; ensure all teams are following best practices from dev/test environments through to production
   •   Provide advice and demonstrations of how to use Visual Studio Team Services, whilst adhering the best practices
   •   Migrating JIRA and Team Foundation Server instances in to Visual Studio Team Services
   •   Automating manual deployments for all applications where possible
   •   Push the boundaries by promoting cloud first approaches to problems that were previously resolved using on-premises solutions
   •   Designing and developing a strategic solution architecture for DevOps tolling beyond and integrating into VSTS.
   •   Be a thought leader and mentor to other team members

The role does not require any line management responsibility.

Suggested work pattern:
   •   Permanent full time (professional working day, Monday to Friday)

The role will report to the DevOps Development Manager.

Your professional experience

   •   Can-do, pragmatic, hands-on and innovative style of working
   •   Experience of designing and delivering pragmatic and commercially viable solutions to new and existing business challenges or opportunities. Must be able to demonstrate experience of defining the business, application, information/data, infrastructure and security elements of a solution and how this met functional and non-functional requirements (including how any exceptions or dispensations were handled)
   •   Usage of Azure DevOps and infrastructure automation
   •   Deploying and managing applications within both Azure and AWS
   •   You are an expert on cloud technologies
   •   Monitoring solutions and experience of best practice
   •   Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written, including ability to articulate solutions to a senior as well as a detailed/technical audience
   •   Strong team player
   •   Experience working within software development or SaaS / cloud architecture groups
   •   Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies, learn quickly and pass on this knowledge onto other team members
   •   Working knowledge of DevOps/Application Lifecycle Management tools, particularly Visual Studio Team Services and JIRA, automation and methodologies used to deploy solutions within a Cloud platform and on-premises
   •   Understanding of test frameworks for automated testing/compliance
   •   Coaching the team in to following best practices and new ways of working

   •   AWS Certified Solutions Architect and/or Azure Certified
   •   You have worked as part of an agile development team and have used Visual Studio Team Services to manage development from end-to-end
   •   You have built a product and have taken it from concept to go-live via automated processes
   •   You are proficient in the automation of creating infrastructure using technologies such as Terraform or ARM templates
   •   You invest in your own develop by staying up to date on technology changes and have a broad awareness of wider technology trends
   •   Understanding of security best practices and automating these standards as part of the release process
   •   MSc in Computer Science
