Software Engineer - V&V Farnborough - The work is based at Farnborough with trials at the ranges in NW Scotland (typically 2 weeks duration).£425 per day UMB/PAYE12-month contractSpecific ResponsibilitiesWorking within the Verification & Validation (V&V) team to produce the necessary sub-ordinate test plansPreparing System and Software scripts to provide simulation data to assist with the V&V activities- both within the development and V&V teamsGeneration of test strategies plans and specifications to satisfy requirement VM & VCManaging DOORS to reflect traceability and status as directed by the Lead EngineerKnowledge, skills and Personal Qualities Required:Experience of systems integrationWorking knowledge of national or internationally recognised Systems Engineering processes such as BS ISO IEC 15288:2002Working knowledge of tools such as DOORS, StarTeam & Enterprise ArchitectExperience in testing in a software intensive environmentExperience in performing V&V testing of wider systems (not necessarily software)Experience of analysing requirements and designing test cases to verify the requirementsExperience writing and amending test scripts/proceduresKey Accountabilities:Execution of system / sub-system / acceptance tests;Recording of system Problem Reports; Re-test and verification of system problem reportsProduction of test artefactsSupport of Acceptance Working Group by the production of evidence, stats, and status informationCarrying out TRRs and other reviews as required by the Lead EngineerGeneration of Test Reports for system/sub-system testing phasesPreparing plans and liaising with customer organisationsBehavioural RequirementsDrive and determinationExcellent analytical skills and judgementExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work under time and budgetary pressuresCollaborative and enthusiastic team memberDesirable QualificationsDriving License acceptable to UK authoritiesDue to the nature of the role candidates will be required to hold an active SC clearance, or be willing/eligible to undergo the process.
