Our client is looking for a DevOps Engineer to provide 3rd level and development support to all systems and other engineers. The successful candidate will work as part of a small team, managing multiple concurrent tasks with varying technologies adopting developer / operations (DevOps) attitudes to ensure successful delivery of various internal & external projects. The role will involve:Supporting all internally developed application transitions and release support for all development activitiesProviding input on Technical Architecture and solutions in order to continuously improve all elements of teh InfrastructureContributing to major systems projects providing input into Systems DevelopmentConducting development and implementation tasks for systems including project planning, analysis, designing, programming & developing, testing and debuggingConducting analysis of the Systems requirements of the organisation producing requirement specifications as needed and undertaking evaluations of software options.Assist with the ongoing troubleshooting and development of systems.Supporting team members in day to day tasks & personal development.Encouraging and support team members in adoption of technical direction.Ensuring team feedback is acted upon & personal development plans are put in place.Supporting project management & Application Delivery Manager in task assignment.Undertaking investigations into technologies, practices & methodologies outside of the normal stack.Transferring and documenting technical support procedures and activities on an on-going and daily basis as activities are undertaken.The right candidate will be a strong communicator with high attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure and excellent problem-solving skills. Previous experience as a team leader or influencer would be an advantage. You will also be/have:Strong experience in a technical support and design role, with experience providing 3rd level support in a similar field.Azure experience of running PaaS & serverless technologies.Proven experience with at least one CI tool set and Web Application support/debugging & managementGood understanding of database technologies in cloud environments.Experience of running production workloads in at least two cloud provider.Experience on providing 3rd line systems and helpdesk style technical support to internal and/or external usersAbility to understand user requirements and translate into technical solutionsScripting (Powershell, python or similar)Use/Understanding/Exposure to at least one high level programming language.Varied Windows and Linux Operating Systems administration skillsNetworking Skills including LAN / WAN and InternetThe post holder will be required to undertake on-call support duties where required. This will fall in line with the Teams' standard out of hours support practices. The post holder may additionally be required to undertake shifts which includes Saturdays and up to 8pm on weekdays where required.Great role of for the right person with excellent career development and training.
