Environmental Health & Safety Specialist SF29862 Location: Ashchurch

About the role

Here at Babcock International, we are looking to recruit an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to manage Environmental, Health & Safety activities of the business at its International / National locations.

Main tasks

You will plan and undertake audits to ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO45001 standards as well as proactively assisting with the close of actions recorded in audits, accident investigations, and sharing information across relevant business streams.

The role will involve reviewing specifications, reports, quality plans and other contract or business related documents to ensure compliance with contracted and legislative requirements as well as review processes and systems with a view to continual improvement.

You will undertake workplace H&S and Environmental inspections across the sites in the UK & overseas to enable compliance with corporate, UK and applicable overseas legislation, and regulatory requirements and collate and report statistics to management regarding performance.

Whilst based at Ashchurch, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire there will be a requirement to regularly visit the UK and International sites and therefore will involve frequent travel and overnight stays.

What do I need to do the role?

You will require NEBOSH General (or level 3) Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (or equivalent) as a minimum and you will also be at rained Lead Auditor in OHSAS 18001/ISO45001 and ISO 14001 standards with a recognised environmental management qualification and an understanding of the requirements of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001.

We would also like you to have experience of the following:

* Experience as a Health and Safety practitioner * An understanding of Radio Frequency hazards * Familiar with mast / tower and Rigging activities

Finally we require you to be a confident communicator, with good customer service skills. You will be target driven and successful in reaching deadlines with experience of working in communications-engineering environment with knowledge of project management principles and practices

What else do I need to know?
