A leading utility company in the Derby area has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join and become their Technical Lead for Electrical Engineering.

Being the Technical Lead, you will be responsible for the design on a diverse range of projects, from feasibility through to outline design and hand over to the Projects team. Sound exciting??

As the Technical Lead, you will be responsible for defining, following, and updating the company specification to ensure industry best practices and new technologies are introduced and maintained within the company.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise or undertake development of technical options to engineering problems using the Solutions Process, to deliver the best engineering Solution for cost and benefit delivery

- Undertake or supervise feasibility studies for a variety of electrical projects

- Support the Solutions Manager/Project Manager in the project management of projects, including the monitoring and control of project costs, and defining and working to a project plan

- Provide Technical Authority to support the Company in maintaining the Electrical Specification, ensuring project compliance with the Specification and review of technical impact of project changes.

You will have a wealth of experience of electrical orientated projects feasibility assessment, outline, detailed design and the delivery of Electrical and/or ICA projects.

An understanding and knowledge of contract management is necessary to ensure consultants and contractors employed to assist in design are managed correctly, meet technical requirements, and to ensure that the correct corporate governance procedures are adhered to.
