The organisation is currently looking for a Database Administrator & Developer to join their Data and Model Analytics team, who support core services in providing data, analytics and designing, creating and implementing forecast models.

The Role

As the Database Administrator & Developer, you will be responsible for designing, creating and maintaining the company's database to include managing all activities related to the database systems.

The design and implementation of the database must be in accordance to end user's information needs and meet system storage requirements. Therefore, an assessment of the modelling and data landscape will be required.

Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

- Monitoring performance, minimising database downtime, managing parameters to provide fast query responses, implementing changes and applying new patches and versions when required 
- Enabling data distribution to the right users, in the appropriate format and in a timely manner
- Creating tools to view and utilise data and output reports for clients 
- Using APIs to link SQL to external data and existing forecasting tools 
- Building and delivering the remediation of models to create efficiency using automation and data integration
- Building new analysis tools by taking conceptual designs and prototypes and converting them into tools that can be used by the wider team for forecasting
- Determining, enforcing and documenting database policies, procedures and standards 
- Providing proactive and reactive data management support and training to users 
- Supporting Junior Analysts in developing coding and database training and support

About You 

To be considered as a Database Administrator & Developer, you'll need experience of the following: 

- Working as a database developer and/or database administrator, working with SQL
- Designing, creating and maintaining databases, including managing all activities related to the database systems
- Monitoring performance, minimising database downtime, managing parameters to provide fast query responses, implementing changes and applying new patches and versions when required
- Creating tools by considering both the back-end organisation of data and front-end accessibility for end users to view and utilise data and output reports for clients
- Using APIs to link SQL to external data and existing forecasting tools
- Refining the logical design of existing models
- Building and delivering remediation of models to create efficiency using automation and data integration

Other organisations may call this role DBA, SQL Administrator, SQL DBA, SQL Database Administrator, SQL Engineer, or Database Engineer.
